Dungeons & Dragons 【Faerûn / The Golden Way / West Marches Campaign】

What is a West Marches Campaign? A West Marches campaign is a style of open table game where the party is not always fixed. Different players can join different sessions, depending on their schedule. Each session is usually a self-contained quest or expedition, but all of them take place in the same shared world. Characters can return across multiple sessions, gain experience, collect treasure, and slowly build their own story. In this campaign, your character travels with the caravan. When you come to a session, your character takes part in that session’s events and quests. When you are not at the game, your character simply remains with the caravan, resting, helping with daily life, or waiting for the next adventure. You do not need to attend every session. You can join when you are available, continue playing your character, and become part of the caravan’s journey. Scenario The adventure begins in Waterdeep, one of the greatest cities of Faerûn. A large caravan is preparing to leave the city and travel east along the legendary route known as The Golden Way. Its destination is Kuo Te’ Lung — a distant land surrounded by rumors of gold, trade, ancient secrets, and strange dangers. You are adventurers who have joined this caravan. Some of you may be guards, scouts, mercenaries, scholars, pilgrims, merchants, criminals seeking a new life, or wanderers chasing fortune. During its long journey, the caravan will pass through some of the most famous lands of Faerûn: the Sword Coast, Cormyr, Calimshan, Thay, and many others. Along the road, the caravan will face many problems: dangerous monsters, lost ruins, political conflicts, strange magic, desperate villages, hidden enemies, and opportunities for glory. Each session will focus on one quest connected to the caravan’s journey. You may protect the caravan, explore nearby ruins, negotiate with locals, hunt monsters, uncover secrets, or solve problems before they become disasters. The road to Kuo Te’ Lung is long. Gold waits at the end of the journey — but so do many dangers. Rules & Gameplay ・Using Dungeons & Dragons 2024 rules (5.5e) ・Combat with miniatures on a grid map ・Diagonal movement counts as 1 square ・Roleplay, exploration, and combat will all be part of the game ・Third-party spells may be allowed, including options from books such as The Griffon’s Saddlebag, Grim Hollow, and similar sources ・If you want to use third-party material, please contact me in advance so we can discuss it before the game Session Details ・Format: West Marches-style campaign ・Open Table: players can join different sessions depending on their schedule ・Setting: Faerûn ・Character Level: Level 3 ・Language: English ・Beginners: very welcome ・Meet-up Time: 19:00 ・Start Time: 19:30 Each session will be structured like a one-shot quest, but players can continue using the same characters across multiple sessions. Level-up will use an experience pool system connected to the caravan. Characters will earn experience through the quests they participate in, and the caravan’s overall progress will help the group grow over time.
